CN22 Instructions

● To accelerate customs clearance, fill in this form in English, French or in a language accepted by the destination country

● If the value of the contents is over £/€ 270 GBP/ 350 EUR, you must use a CN23 form (click here if you want to switch to a CN23)

● Entry [1]:

For each article, give Quantity, Unit of Measurement and Detailed Description
This is especially important for articles subject to quarantine (such as: plant, animal, food products, etc.).
For example: 2 x Men’s cotton shirts in size large

● Entry [2]:

Give the Net Weight in kilograms of each article. For example: 0.5 kg (for 500g), which is the weight without packing.

● Entry [3]:

Give the Value + Currency of each article. For example: 150 GBP (for British Pound Sterling)

● Entry [4]:

If known, provide the HS tariff number* (of 6 or 8 digits), which must be based on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System developed by the World Customs Organisation. Click here to get help identifying the HS tariff number.

● Entry [5]:

If known, provide the Country of Origin*, which means the country where the goods originated.
i.e. were the article is produced, manufactured or assembled.
It is recommended you supply the HS tariff number and Country of Origin and attach an Invoice to the outside of the package, because this will assist Customs clearance. You'll be able to generate + attach an invoice below.

● Entry [6]:

Give the Total Gross Weight in kilograms of the whole package, which includes weight of packaging. For example: 0.75 kg (for 750g)

● Entry [7]:

Give the Total Value + Currency of each article. For example: 270 GBP (for British Pound Sterling)

● Entry [8]:

Add your Signature and date to confirm liability for the item/package

* In cases of multiple/different products being declared then

only the lead/first product HS Tariff Number and Country of Origin

will be shown on the printed (PDF) version of the Customs Declaration

Total Net Weight (Kg)

Total net weight of the consignment as expressed in kilograms and EXCLUDES the Consignment Delivery Package (CDP) weight (i.e. into which the product is being consigned). Therefore, total net weight is the sum of only the product(s) weight in kilograms.

Note:

CN22 are normally 75mm square labels, and so you can print a label on an A4 sheet that’s divided into 6 sticky labels (e.g. Parcel Labels L7166-100); you just need to tell us where you want the printed label to appear.

Unsure? Do a test print on a blank, plain A4 sheet of paper; place the printed copy on top of the A4 sheet with the 6 sticky labels; hold-up to the light and see if the positioning is correct. If good, then re-print otherwise, adjust the top and left margins and do another test print on plain A4 and see if alignment is better. We save the alignment for next time.
